Who We Are
The Academy for Educational Development Moldova is a non-governmental organization working nationwide to improve civil society. AED Moldova operates as a branch of the US nonprofit development organization – Academy for Educational Development, the major goal of which is to solve critical social problems and build the capacity of individuals, communities and institutions.
AED came to Moldova in 2007 with the Strengthening Civil Society Monitoring Capacity in Moldova Program, which was launched under the Threshold Country Plan signed between the U.S. Millennium Challenge Corporation and Moldovan Government. AED’s two-year effort (July 2007 – May 2009) improved the monitoring and advocacy capacity of civil society organizations and mass media to help prevent and deter corruption.
In October 2009 AED launched the Moldova Civil Society Strengthening Program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). It is a three-year program that stands for supporting, training, and strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSO).
